HoYoverse has officially unveiled the full scope of Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.6, following a jam-packed Special Program livestream. The update brings the long-awaited Angels of Delusion faction, a new story chapter, a slew of limited-time events, and some of the most generous giveaways the game has seen so far. With an array of new Agents, outfits, combat modes, and quality‑of‑life improvements, the patch is poised to reshape the Proxies’ experience in New Eridu.

The story shifts to the Gilded Carrot celebration, a festive event threatened by a shadowy saboteur. Fortunately, Fairy has made meticulous preparations, and players will step directly into the chaos through the “Encore for an Old Dream” Season 2 Interlude mission. A new trailer shown during the stream hints that the Proxies will have their hands full uncovering the conspiracy while enjoying the show put on by the Angels of Delusion.
Viewers of the Special Program were also treated to an exclusive redemption code that grants 300 Polychromes and additional resources. The code is time‑sensitive, so Proxies are encouraged to claim it as soon as possible.
A Flood of Free Rewards
Version 2.6’s freebie lineup is exceptionally robust. At the center is the Angel’s Invitation Event, which rewards players with exclusive goodies when they unlock a certain number of Angels of Delusion members. Additionally, everyone can earn a free skin for Pan Yinhu, the “Culinary Jewel” outfit, by completing a new event.
Other complimentary rewards include:
-
10 Encrypted Master Tapes
-
10 Boopons
-
Continued availability of the free Agent Zhao
-
A surprise Inter‑Knot Membership reward event
-
The Gilded Carrot special event
From February 14 to February 20, the Gilded Surprise and Wonderful Boo‑ns sub‑events will be active. Proxies logging in daily can participate in a lucky draw to immediately receive 30 Polychromes and a chance at even larger prizes. Spending Battery charges grants three additional draws, and participants can obtain a special Bangboo Badge as a keepsake.
New Agents and Signature W‑Engines
The Angels of Delusion debut with two brand‑new agents, each bringing a distinctive playstyle and their own Signature W‑Engine.
Sunna – Physical Support (Phase 1)
Sunna excels at empowering her Attack and Anomaly teammates. She can summon Bubblegum to provide ongoing support while she swaps back to the main DPS. Once summoned, Bubblegum places the entire squad in the Angelic Chord‑ination state, causing Sunna to launch coordinated attacks alongside Bubblegum whenever another Agent uses a Special attack. This triggers Ether Veil, boosting the entire team’s ATK. Notably, Bubblegum remains on the field even after Sunna is switched out.
Aria – Ether Anomaly (Phase 2)
Aria fights with the crowd’s energy. Glowsticks scattered around the battlefield cheer her on, accumulating Fandom Power that she can absorb to amplify her damage. When her Charged Basic Attack strikes a target already afflicted by any Attribute Anomaly, it triggers the Abloom effect, further increasing her damage output. Holding her Basic Attack unleashes a devastating downward blow.
The Angels of Delusion also come with their dedicated Bangboo. If two or more Angels of Delusion are present in the active team, this Bangboo boosts the entire squad’s ATK and continuously restores HP for all Agents.
In addition to the newcomers, rerun banners offer another chance to obtain Yixuan during Phase 1 and Yuzuha during Phase 2, along with their Signature W‑Engines.
Stylish New Outfits
Fashion‑forward Proxies will find two premium skins hitting the in‑game shop. Sunna’s “Afternoon Tea Break” outfit becomes available as soon as the 2.6 update drops.
Once Aria’s Phase 2 banner goes live, her “Discordant Note” outfit will join the store lineup as well.
Agent Adjustments: Lycaon and Harumasa Buffed
Longtime Agents aren’t being left behind. Version 2.6 includes ability enhancements for Lycaon and Harumasa, giving both characters more impact in combat. While exact numerical tweaks haven’t been fully detailed, the developers confirmed these are targeted buffs aimed at improving their viability in high‑difficulty content.
Events Celebrating Music, Festivals, and Combat
The patch is packed with limited‑time events that run throughout the version:
-
A Harmony of Delusions – Follow New Eridu’s Rising Star and witness the future unfold from a single spotlight.
-
Stacking Fortune – A New Year event filled with fireworks, lanterns, and lucky carps. Players spend the golden festival with the people who matter most.
-
Gravitational Storytime – A movie‑watching activity that even lets you invite Sweety from Yum Cha Sin’s.
-
Snap! Hollow Realm Showdown – The “King” who makes Ethereals tremble returns for another round of battle photography.
-
Angels of Delusion Training in Progress – Already live, this five‑week event allows players to train alongside the Angels as Fairy helps them improve.
-
Threshold Simulation: Myriad Endgame – A new combat challenge event.
-
Usual Double Rewards Events – Bonus drops from material stages.
-
High Score Card Collector – Engage in VR Combat to earn Stamp Seals and flip cards for extra prizes.
Quality‑of‑Life and Gameplay Expansions
Version 2.6 introduces the Operation Matrix, a new Hollow Zero mode with different themed stages each week and a variety of challenges. In this mode, Agents are split into Primary and Auxiliary categories. The Primary squad functions as the main team, while Auxiliary Agents are hidden from the squad configuration but can be called in to deliver an Auxiliary Assist once their charge is full. Primary slots can be filled with trial Agents, but Auxiliary Agents must be owned by the player.
Tactical Prism Programs for Sunna and Aria will help newcomers master these characters quickly. A Compendium training tab has been added to centralize learning resources.
Several UI and system optimizations round out the patch:
-
Hollow Zero now features a Quick‑Sweep function using Deep Cleaning Service Cards, letting players instantly clear a stage.
-
The Hollow Zero HDD interface has been streamlined.
-
A camera system adjustment adds new photo frames.
-
The challenge result screen can now be sped up with a skip option.
-
New Agent avatars, trust events, and dynamic wallpapers expand personalization options.
With its blend of idol‑themed Agents, generous freebies, a gripping new story, and a massive list of improvements, Version 2.6 feels like a turning point for Zenless Zone Zero. Proxies can dive in and experience the Angels of Delusion for themselves when the update goes live.
