I’ve been digging through the Zenless Zone Zero version 3.3 beta leaks, and as a longtime player, I can’t help but feel that New Eridu is about to shift again. The 3.3 update doesn’t just add another banner; it continues Season 3 of the main story, taking us into Roscaelifer and asking us to uncover why disasters are threatening the heaven of Bangboos. In this patch, I’ll meet two brand-new faces: Phoenix, a powerful but clumsy member of Krampus Phoenix, and Severian, the serious, deadly agent from Public Security. Both are expected to become playable S-Rank Agents, and based on the leaked kits, they’re going to reshape team building in very different ways. Of course, because this is leaked information from trusted sources, I’m keeping my expectations flexible—miHoYo can still change numbers, animations, or even entire mechanics before the official release. Still, as a player who loves planning ahead, I can’t resist breaking down what these two might bring to my account.

Phoenix: The Fire Anomaly Crit Enabler

Phoenix is an upcoming S-Rank Agent with the Fire Attribute and Anomaly Specialty. From what I’ve read, she’s built to deal massive Fire Attribute Anomaly effects and, more importantly, to let the entire team’s Attribute Anomaly deal critical hits. That second part is huge for me, because Anomaly teams have traditionally relied on raw buildup and damage over time rather than crit scaling. If her Core Passive works as described—granting allies’ Attribute Anomaly effects a fixed crit rate—then she could push Disorder and Abloom compositions into a completely new damage bracket.

Her basic attacks count as Burning attacks. By using them, Phoenix recovers special Energy, which she then spends on her Special and EX Special Attack to dash between enemies, deal massive damage, and rapidly raise the enemies’ Attribute Anomaly wheel. If enemies are already under an Attribute Anomaly effect, her attacks deal additional Anomaly Damage and trigger Abloom. Her Ultimate sounds especially dramatic: she takes flight, deals a massive blow to all enemies at the cost of all her HP, and enters an annihilation state. In that state, she can’t be downed, and every instance of damage she deals to enemies under Attribute Anomaly effects triggers Abloom. When she’s taken down or switched in, she gradually recovers HP. That on-and-off-field rhythm tells me she’ll want quick swaps, strong anomaly supports, and a team that can keep the anomaly wheel spinning.

Severian: The Wind Attack Counter Specialist

Severian is the other new S-Rank Agent, and he fills a very different role: Wind Attribute, Attack Specialty. His kit revolves around two simple goals—dodging enemy attacks and countering with his own Basic Attacks. Whenever an enemy is about to attack him, dodging allows Severian to retaliate automatically with a powerful Basic Attack that deals Wind damage. He also gains a special buff upon entering battle and after using specific abilities. That buff can be consumed to automatically dodge enemies’ attacks and trigger his Basic Attack counter effects without requiring precise timing from me. As someone who sometimes panics when a boss winds up a heavy hit, that sounds incredibly forgiving.

Each time Severian counters with a Basic Attack, he gains special stacks. Once he has enough, he can unleash a more powerful enhanced Basic Attack for massive damage. His Special Attack deals a large instance of damage, accumulates his special stacks, and grants himself the automatic dodge buff. After his Ultimate, he deals even more damage and gains additional stack effects and a buff stack that lets him automatically dodge enemies’ attacks. Put simply, Severian is a player-friendly, high-damage DPS who can safely cut through waves of enemies. If you don’t want to stress about perfect dodge timing, he looks like the designated comfort pick for 3.3.

Signature W-Engines: What They Bring

Alongside Phoenix and Severian, their signature W-Engines are expected to arrive. Here’s the leaked breakdown I’m keeping in mind:

Agent W-Engine Sub Stat Leaked Effect
Phoenix 30% Anomaly Mastery Increases the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency by 75 points. When any squad member’s Attribute Anomaly DMG dealt to enemies scores a CRIT, the equipper’s Fire DMG increases by 40% for 20s. Repeated triggers refresh the duration.
Severian 24% Critical Rate Increases the equipper’s CRIT DMG by 24%. When the equipper’s Basic Attack hits an enemy, increases their own ATK by 15%, and DMG dealt ignores 20% of the target’s Wind DMG RES for 20s.

Those numbers look tailor-made for their respective roles. Phoenix’s engine doubles down on Anomaly Proficiency and Fire DMG once crits start rolling, while Severian’s engine rewards his Basic Attack-centric counter gameplay with ATK and Wind RES penetration.

The leaked banner schedule points to a two-phase version 3.3:

  • Phase 1: S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent Phoenix and her signature W-Engine. I can also expect one or two rerun S-Rank characters alongside her, most likely supports for her playstyle such as Miyabi, Aria, Alice, or Velina.

  • Phase 2: S-Rank Wind Attack Agent Severian and his signature W-Engine. His reruns will probably feature characters who boost his damage, like Dialyn, Norma, or Astra Yao.

As a first-person player, my plan is simple: I’ll keep an eye on official 3.3 announcements, but I’m already setting aside Polychromes. Phoenix feels like the key to making Anomaly crit teams real, while Severian feels like the low-stress DPS I can bring into almost any fight. 🎯 If the leaks hold true, version 3.3 could be one of the most interesting patches of 2026 for Zenless Zone Zero. I’ll just remember to treat every leaked number as temporary—and save enough funds so I’m ready when the banners finally go live. 💾
